In the same month as a would-be assassin armed with a DPMS AR-15 assault rifle targeted former President Trump, two separate gun magazines ran stories highlighting the guns used in two completed Presidential assassinations.
The cover of Guns Magazine touted, “Guns of the JFK Assassination!” — punctuated with an exclamation point!
Meanwhile, American Handgunner featured an article titled, “Killing Lincoln: John Wilkes Booth’s Philadelphia Deringer.”
In its advertising, DPMS has described its assault rifles as “Built to be as Tough as the Mission Ahead” and “Built to be as Tough as the Job.” See more examples from the VPC of how the gun industry markets its militarized weapons to civilian gun buyers.
